Tom Uhde

Congratulations to Trinity’s Class of 1967, Tom Uhde, who received the 2023 University of Louisville School of Medicine Distinguished Alumni Award!

Tom, a self-proclaimed, “maniac Duke and Trinity sports fan”, there were several coincidences about the recognition that he found personally humorous given his background with Trinity, Duke, and the University of Louisville. “I’m a 1967 Trinity graduate, and truly believe my Trinity education and Trinity experiences were the foundation for any success I may have subsequently enjoyed. After Trinity, I attended and graduated from Duke [and made many attempts via Father Zettel to get subsequent Trinity students to consider Duke with some success.]

For those that know me I’m an avid (actually “maniac”) Duke and Trinity sports fan. After Duke, I attended and graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine.

As part of the weekend ceremony that recognized the recipients of the 2023 UL Alumni Awards, the recipients were presented at half-time of the Homecoming Football game against Duke.

Both UL and Duke enjoyed remarkable (and to many pundits unexpected) success, which on the part of UL can be attributed to their remarkable first year coach…. a former Trinity superstar and graduate, Jeff Brohm.”
