2024 KYA

Under the leadership of the president of the KYA Club, Max Corbett, Trinity accomplished one of the most decorated KYA conferences in school history. They earned several individuals awards and, as a delegation, they received one of the highest awards you can receive.

  • All of their bills passed the Senate and the House. Four of them were signed into law.

  • Trinity's KYA freshmen and sophomores wrote two bills:

    • Bill 37: An Act relating to monetary assistance for families. This bill was signed into law.

      • Authors: Ali Aljabbari, Landen Blincoe, and Soren Rai

    • Bill 38: An act relating to the Establishment of healthcare facilities across rural Kentucky. This bill was signed into law.

      • Authors: Mathew Craft, David Garcia, Jackson Merrick, and Daniel Smith.

  • Trinity's KYA juniors and seniors wrote three bills that passed the House and the Senate:

    • Bill 48: An Act relating to Public School metal detectors.

      • Authors: Wyatt Bonifer, Davis Dauk, Gboyega Fakunlen, and Eli Jones

    • Bill 49*** : An Act relating to the Implementation of Naloxone Training Protocols.

      • Authors: Jason Bui, Paul Nguyen, Carson Song

      • *** This bill was signed into law and was ranked the Highest Ranked commonwealth bill.

    • Bill 50: An Act relating to the regulation of artificial intelligence (AI). This bill was signed into law.

      • Authors: Evan Klein, Henry Mitchel, Ben Merrick, and Albert Nguyen

Individual Awards:

  1. Ian Beierle: Showcase Round Winner

  2. Daniel Smith: Outstanding Speaker

  3. Aidan Lambert: Outstanding Speaker

  4. Jason Bui: Outstanding Speaker and Outstanding Delegate.

Delegation Awards:

  1. Premier Delegation

  2. Conference Life Award

Perhaps, the most notable achievement for this group was that Trinity's Max Corbett was elected as governor for the 2025 KYA Conference. Max was elected from 1200 students from 46 high schools around the Commonwealth.
