The Speech and Debate Rocks kicked off their season with a strong showing at the first Wyatt Debate League tournament. The Congressional Debate Rocks ended up in an inter-squad competition with freshman Tyler Woods in 5th, freshman Parker Beaven in 4th, junior Max Corbett in 3rd, senior Ian Beierle in 2nd, and senior Hayden Deitz in 1st.
The novice PF team of freshmen Ryan Huber and Owen Tafel advanced to finals and placed 2nd. They also took the top 2 speaker awards with Owen in 2nd and Ryan in first. With this strong showing, both Owen and Ryan have also earned membership to the National Speech and Debate Association, a national honors society for speech and debate students.
