Prioritizing a child’s educational needs: A legislative update from Representative Matt Lockett regarding ballot amendment 2 in the upcoming election
Education is the great equalizer. It can overcome poverty and unlock the doors to opportunity. And, all Kentucky children deserve an education that fully equips them to reach their full potential.
This year, Kentuckians have the opportunity to vote on two constitutional amendments. The first addresses a loophole in the constitution’s election provisions. The second proposed amendment would allow the legislature more flexibility in determining how Kentucky schoolchildren can be educated. Both issues are so important that lawmakers voted to place them on the ballot, giving voters the opportunity to weigh in and have their voice heard.
