Keith Griffith ’25, had his PBS documentary about how bee keeping helped him cope recently released. It is a 26:00 min documentary that he helped make.
Teen beekeeper Keith Griffith III began beekeeping to cope with stress when both of his parents were incarcerated. When Keith was 11, his uncle taught him how to care for a bee colony and harvest honey. Keith is reunited with his parents and now runs a honey business, Beeing2gether, and is a mental health and environmental advocate in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. Guided by filmmaker Evan Mascagni, Keith helped make this film, showing what bees have taught him about cooperation, community, and emotional wellbeing, and why pollinators are important for food production and the environment.
