Charlie George quickly emerged as a leader at Trinity High School. He was elected Senior Class president and a Merton House captain. Charlie also was a member of the National Honor Society and National Beta Club. Charlie’s brother, Tim, also graduated from Trinity in 2007.

Charlie was an outstanding student-athlete. He played lacrosse and football, winning a combined five state championships. He was captain of the lacrosse team his senior year, earning first-team All-State lacrosse honors and playing on three state-champion teams (2005, 2006, 2007). He also was selected to play in the U.S Lacrosse National Senior Showcase in Chicago his senior year.

Charlie played safety for the football team. The Shamrocks won two state titles (2006, 2007) during Charlie’s time on the team. Additionally, he received Academic All-State honors his senior year.

After graduating from Trinity in 2008, Charlie attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business management in 2012. It was at Miami where Charlie met his wife, Christina. If you ask Charlie, he will tell you Christina is the “rock” of their family and much better half. They’ve been married nine years and currently reside in Riverwood subdivision in Louisville.

Following college, Charlie began working for the Nielsen Company. He was in a two-year leadership development program, with four six-month rotations in Chicago, New York City and Tampa. He graduated from the program in 2015 and became a global project manager. After Nielsen, Charlie spent two years as assistant director for development at the University of Louisville Athletic Department.

In 2017, Charlie accepted an analyst position with global financial services firm Goldman Sachs in Chicago. He has been with Goldman Sachs for nearly eight years and is currently a regional director for half of Kentucky and Indiana, providing financial sales and consulting. In 2022, Charlie earned his MBA from the University of Notre Dame, graduating cum laude.

In 2023, Charlie and his family relocated to Louisville from Chicago. Charlie and Christina have three children: Charlie Jr., 5; Ben, 4; and Owen, 1. They are members of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

“My boys are all future Rocks,” Charlie said. “One of the reasons we moved back to Louisville is so they can attend Trinity. My four years at Trinity were formative for me. At Trinity, I received an incredible faith-based education, grew my relationship with God and enjoyed many great experiences. Trinity is a gift my parents gave to me and my brother, and one Christina and I hope to give our three boys. Some of my favorite memories were winning state championships with my brother and friends. Along with my parents, my Trinity coaches and teachers taught me how to be a man. Coach Pete Schroeder, Coach Tim Thompson, Coach Bob Beatty, Father Dave Zettel and many others at Trinity made a positive impact on me in so many ways. I have so much respect and gratitude for all of them.”

Charlie credits his Trinity education with his success following high school. “I was more than prepared for college and life,” Charlie said. “The teachers who guided me were outstanding. It was obvious they love what they do and care about their students.”

He also made lifelong friends.

“My classmates and teammates helped to shape who I am,” Charlie said.

Charlie is involved at Trinity as a Class Agent and a member of the Trinity Annual Fund Committee. He is also a regular donor to the Trinity Annual Fund. All contributions are used for financial aid. Over 43% of Trinity students receive financial aid, so it’s vital to many of our families.

“I give because I want to give young men the gift of Trinity High School,” Charlie said. “You just can’t understand the Trinity experience unless you went there. It’s transformative in so many ways.”
